I’m bringing one of my favorite solo percussion pieces back to NYC – recent Pulitzer Prize nominee Christopher Cerrone’s Memory Palace.
This 23-minute electroacoustic solo percussion piece is scored almost exclusively for handmade instruments – tuned pieces of wood, metal pipes, beer bottles and more -accompanied by field recordings and electronically generated sounds. It’s a beautiful trip through Chris’ life in that each movement represents places or people with particular significance to him.
This evening is also a CD release event for John Halle and Le Train Bleu’s new disc!
